Fred

Fred,[1] also known as Incidental 1,[2] Incidental 1ISH,[3] Incidental F1,[4] Dude #1,[5] the sound guy, and the Bikini Bottomite, is an incidental character who first appears in the episode "Reef Blower" while his production order debut was in "Squeaky Boots." He is classified as a "hotdog" type incidental.

Names[]

For the first ten seasons, he was a basic unnamed incidental character known as Incidental 1. In the season 2 episode "Patty Hype," he was given the name Fred as a one time name. Because of this, many fans often referred to Incidental 1 as Fred online. This made the crew decide to readopt the name Fred as Incidental 1's confirmed name, claiming that the fans gave him the name Fred. He has had other names, however, such as:

Although Fred is an incidental, he has shown to have a consistent personality ever since his big appearance in "My Leg!" Before "My Leg!," his personality was often inconsistent and differed from other episodes. He appears to be a generally kind and somewhat normal person that is also usually prone to accidents that end up getting him injured, in most cases his legs get injured and he shouts out "My leg!" when this happens.
